Residencies

Our writers in residence programme Write Here continues to create residencies in socially and culturally significant venues. Write Here residencies facilitate the creative development of writers and strengthen their links with local communities and audiences. They support feelings of well-being in health and social care contexts. They involve students, teachers, and local communities in creative writing projects.

Writers benefit greatly from ‘immersion’ in host venues, through having more time to write, from interaction with new audiences and environments.

Writers in residence are an important and established method of engaging writers with other forms of art and culture, and the broader community, in a variety of different venues.

Residencies have been established in major cities and counties in the East Midlands region. Each Resident Writer is based within a host organisation from either the cultural or community sector with strong links to other partner organisations in the area.

We aim to include a full range of disciplines within literature – poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, storytelling and spoken word. We endeavour to include a range of experience from emerging to established artists.
